What Does Your Fragrance Say About You?

A woman's fragrance speaks volumes about her. The kind of fragrance she wears is her signature.  It is the impression she leaves long after she is gone.  Whether she is sensual, self-assured, fashionable, aggressive, flirty, bold, sporty, outdoorsy, vibrant, shy, adventurous or sexy, a woman can say a lot with her fragrance.  I love fragrances! When I shop for them, I am very intentional about what I select.  I think long and hard before I walk out the department store with an $80.00 purchase.  The fragrance has to reflect something about who I am. This is my advice to anyone who is shopping for perfumes.  Now that the holidays are upon us, I am on the hunt for another perfect fragrance, one that is the essence of me. After smelling nearly 20 fragrances, I think I'm ready. You help me decide!

Rehydrating Thirsty Skin

Winter is the time of year when your skin can take a beating.  I know this for a fact, Upstate New York have very cold and snowy winters.  Skin needs to be protected from such harsh weather. The exposure to cold weather freezes our pores. This causes poor circulation in the skin.  In prepping for my moisturizer, I like to use a great rehydrating toner.  Your skin's elasticity plays an vital role in restoring luster to your face, making you look radiant and healthy. There aren't many toners that I truly like, however, I do have a strong liking for Lancome Comforting Rehydrating Toner

Lancome's  rehydrating toner is made with honey and sweet almond extract. Honey's natural antioxidant properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays and harsh weather. Additionally, honey supports the skin's ability to rejuvenate, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple.  Almond oil is great because it penetrates deep into the layers of skin. You'll love your skin!

A Wonderful Treat For The Holidays!

I am a sucker for pound cakes.  Growing up my mother made cakes from scratch.  Now, if you don't know what "from scratch" mean; it indicates that my mother put her heart and soul into every cakes.  I love sweets and pound cakes are at the top of my list.  If  you are watching your waistline, you might want to stay clear of these deletable temptations.  They are not called "pound" cakes for nothing.

The holidays are upon us and I say enjoy the abundant blessing of family, good food and fellowship.  Nothing takes the place of my mother's cakes like those from Nonnie Waller's Traditional Southern Style Cakes.  Gift cakes and flowers stuffed inside of a beautiful keepsake hatbox.  Simply heavenly!

Entertaining Made Easy

The holidays are perfect for entertaining.  Organizing is the key to a stress-free gathering. Whether planning for a large festive celebration or an intimate small dinner,  advancing planning for the holidays can be less stressful and more enjoyable.  To help me kick off the holidays, I enrolled in Williams-Sonoma complimentary technique classes in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Their demonstrations provided tips on how to prepare a moist juicy turkey, creamy mashed potatoes to perfection and superb corn bread stuffing.  As I stood and watch the instructor, I was envious of how easy she made the entire process.  Immediately I deemed her as my hero.  The turkey roasted to perfection, mashed potatoes free of lumps, pumpkin pie made with just the right amount of nutmeg.  When the holidays roll around this year, I'll be ready.
Happy Thanksgiving!
